California State University system just added caste to their non-discrimination policy.
That’s 23 campuses, and they’re not the only ones. Other institutions are now considering similar additions to their own policies. On the surface, this doesn’t look like a problem. Caste-based discrimination is wrong. So what’s the issue with adding caste to non-discrimination policies or laws?
Simply put, these seemingly progressive policies actually hurt the same people they are trying to help by creating a specific target: Indians—because that is who caste is equated with.
Join us for an in-depth discussion with our in-house legal team, Suhag Shukla and Samir Kalra, about the inherent problem our community faces as these policies and laws are adopted. We’ll provide you with an overview of what’s happening, why you should be concerned, and how to address it. Registration is required.
