The 2020 census is here and we are all required to participate.
You have until April 1 to complete the paper form mailed to you, or submit online.
If you haven’t received the form, you can take it online at my2020census.gov.
It takes less than 5 minutes. After April 1, the Census Bureau will conduct home visits to those who haven’t completed the form.
Why is the census important?
- It determines how much federal funding your community receives to improve roads, schools, and public infrastructure.
- It determines how much representation you get in Congress.
- It helps prepare your community for emergency readiness.
Who should complete the census?
Everyone! If you live in the US — whether you’re a citizen or not — you are required by law to be counted in the census. The Census Bureau is required to protect your answers and does not disclose personal information.
