Washington, D.C. (March 22, 2016) — The Hindu American Foundation (HAF) condemned the gruesome terrorist attacks that targeted the international airport and a busy metrorail station in Brussels earlier today. The attacks, which claimed the lives of over 30 people and injured hundreds more, came days after Brussels authorities tracked and arrested the main perpetrator of the Paris attacks carried out by ISIS in October 2015. ISIS has also claimed responsibility for today’s attacks.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the deceased, those who are recovering from injuries, and the people of Belgium,” said Jay Kansara, Director of Government Relations. “Today’s attacks are a clear reminder of the dangers and far reach of violent Islamist extremism festering throughout cities and communities around the globe. Such attacks are becoming far too common, and world leaders must address the ideologies that inspire them.”
