Washington, DC (March 15, 2019) — HAF leaders were today shocked to learn of the terrorist attacks on mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand.
Samir Kalra, HAF Managing Director, offered the following statement:
“The Hindu American community is deeply saddened by the heinous terrorist attack by white nationalists on two mosques in New Zealand. No faith community should ever have to feel insecure or fearful in their place of worship. We stand in solidarity with the Muslim community and express our sincere condolences for the victims and their families. We call on civil society and government officials to collectively confront this growing threat of white nationalism in New Zealand, here at home, and around the world.”
